SALE: Threshold Church: "Down Through The Roof" 12x24" Giclee Print
The Original Painting was Acrylic on Panel, 24x48” and was auctioned at “Mingle For Missions”, raising $800 through the generosity of one of my collectors. It was part of the opening show of artists at the Grand Opening of Threshold’s new campus (picture with the Arts Charlotte group in the new space).
This is a limited edition, signed and numbered print of 250, and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. It is printed using the highest quality papers and inks, and is carefully balanced to match the colors of the original.
This piece was directly inspired by the central scripture of Threshold church: the parable of four friends lowering their crippled companion down through the roof to the feet of Jesus. The cornerstone and central DNA of Threshold's mission is "getting others in front of Jesus", and I was inspired to paint this live during one of the services to be used as part of our annual fundraiser, 'Mingle for Missions', as my artistic contribution to the work of getting others in face to face with the gospel. There are airplanes in the sky, and a peaked, post-and-beam roofline in obvious juxtaposition to ancient Israeli culture as a reference to the barn elements of our new building (still yet "to be" at the time of the painting). The barn was used to build the glider planes that brought allied soldiers behind enemy lines in WWII, vulnerably and at great personal danger. Again, this was a fitting metaphor for our prayer as Threshold to be willing to risk our comfort, reputation, convenience, or even our lives to bring the gospel of Christ out into enemy territory. I pray the piece is a reminder to us and a visualized call to action to risk all to bring other's before Jesus.
